clac clac clac...

Since a few weeks, sometimes the engine sounds like a diesel engine. Most of the time after a quick run with cornering. It stops after a while if I drive on a straight line for a few minutes. It never did that before so what do I have to do to stop this noise ? The performances of the car doesn't change when it makes that noise.

The car is a 1.6K SuperSport

Thx for any help.

Does anyone else think this sounds like oil starvation causing the hydraulic tappets to collapse a little?

The hydraulic tappets then causing the noise and pumping themselves back up after a bit of straight running??

Before people get into the benefits of Apollo tanks etc. make sure you are measuring the oil level correctly on the dipstick according to the instruction manual. If you're meant to check the level with the engine hot & running the dipstick will read full when you are still about a litre under. Clean synthetic oil is also hard to read accurately on the dipstick.

Absolutely no hitchhikers *thumbdown*
