Peter S Posted May 6, 2003 Share Posted May 6, 2003 2 speed heater ( I know ....who needs a heater at this time of year...I hate things not working properly!)It only works on the high speed ...is it likely to be the switch or the heater ...the switch feels fine . Sheds Moderator Posted May 6, 2003 Share Posted May 6, 2003 There is a resistor in the circuit somewhere, usually this is hidden in the motor housing. These give up on most cars eventually to give the symptoms you describe. Of course it could be the switch but removal of the resistor and 5 mins with a multitester will tell you. When this happened to my then daily driver Cav I lost lowest speed first, followed by each other one. ISTR it only took 2 years to get round to fixing it...after all, it cost me 3 quid, y'know?
