I need a second set of wheels so swapping doesnt help me unfort.

Do you know if there is any weight difference between the Apollos and the KN 8 spoke wheels?

Caterham 6x13 eight spoke weighs 4.4kg

Caterham 8x13 eight spoke weighs 4.7kg

From CC website:-

6x13 Apollo weighs 4.16kg

8x13 Apollo weighs 4.76kg

6.5 x15 Orcus weighs 5.8kg

6x 14 Classic weights 4.88kg

Hmm.. those weights don't correspond with my own measurements using (well calibrated) digital scales, which show that KN 8 spokes are quite a bit heavier than Apollo's. Plus, we all know that Caterham's claimed weights are absolutely laughable(!)

When you hold an Apollo in one hand and a KN in the other the difference is obvious - you can clearly feel how much lighter Apollos are than KN 8 spokes.

Apollo’s

6” - 4.3 kgs

8” - 4.8 kgs

KN 8 spokes

6” - 4.8 kgs

8” - (haven't got a pair to weigh)

Let’s say the front KNs are 0.5kg heavier each corner and rears maybe 0.7kg (?) heavier each corner, would you notice that difference in unsprung weight in terms of handling/ performance?

I have a set of Apollos on ZZS already for road biased use and was thinking of getting a set of KNs with ZZR equivalent rubber on them for summer track use, but sounds like the Apollo is a better performance wheel given its lower mass, just not sure how much difference you’d notice
