I am selling a 1.8 K series engine which was bought by me in 2009 as a low mileage R400 but was run on Jenvey throttle bodies and an Emerald ECU. Since then, it was comprehensively rebuilt by Tom New (of New Techniques) in 2014 and has since done less than 3000 miles.

The parts installed on the rebuilt engine included:

Steel rods

Forged pistons

Ductile HD cylinder liners

Main and big end bearings

Piper 1444 camshafts

Valve springs, guides and shims

Oil pump

Water pump

The engine is currently installed and running with the Jenvey 45mm throttle bodies and the last rolling road session in 2019 produced about 210bhp and 150lbft torque at 6500rpm.

The engine will come with the following:

·       Emerald K3 ECU with lead for EU3 K series

·       Jenvey 45mm throttle bodies with 90mm trumpets to fit K series fitted with injectors, fuel rail and air filter

·       Caterham Dry Sump that includes sump pan, bell housing tank, gold pump with mounting bracket and all hoses

The engine is currently in the car (Southampton area) and can be heard running.

Note: the exhaust, clutch and flywheel are not included.
