Lo7Man
Hi all My 1995 Caterham has a binding front caliper, have cleaned it and managed to free it up , but a refurbishment kit would be preferred.CC would rather I buy a new Caliper but cost wise i would rather buy a refurbished item or a kit to do it myself.Question is are the front calipers a spitfire item, if so does anyone know what the year and part number for the item is.Also for future problems is the rear caliper Ford Mondao, if so does anyone know what the year and part number for the item is .Would greatly appreciate any advice on the above. Paul Deslandes
Big Red do cylinder repair kits as well as replacement parts. They should know which type you need in the absense of anyone telling you on here.Paul
john milner
When I had a binding piston I replaced the right hand caliper with one of these http://www.jamespaddock.co.uk/brake-caliper-rh-type-14-new-3Alternatives from the same company http://www.jamespaddock.co.uk/search?q=159130&pagesize=9 £55 + VAT for a new one. £37.50 + VAT for a recon. StevehS3
Aren’t the ‘new’ calipers refurbished ones anyway? Do they still make new ones?
john milner
I think that new ones are generally new although I doubt that any come from the original source.
