eric Posted April 8, 2017 Share Posted April 8, 2017 A friend had some problems with the crankshaft and one conrod :-(It seems to be a lubrication failure .... ) It is a dry sump car . Another friend, the same problem ... with the same engine and the same car .Is it a well known problem in a 200 HP Caterham ?What would be the best oil to use in this engine ? sjmmarsh Posted April 9, 2017 Share Posted April 9, 2017 Ericthe CSR can use more oil than other 7s so you need to keep an eye on the levels. Mine uses about 0.5l per 1,000 miles - much more on trackdays. CC issued a technical update on the importance of regular oil checks.Steve Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
