Brian Deacon
Hi. MOT booked tomorrow morning. Just doing a quick check and find the reverse light not working. Removed two screws from lens but lens will not come off the assy. Took two nuts of the back and the assy comes off the bracket but will still not come apart to check the bulb. This is an oblong light mounted below the back of the car, paired with the red fog light. Any idea?
revilla
Suspect the lens has just stuck to the rubber seal that sits around the edge of it - might need pulling a little more firmly to separate it. It's only the two accessible screws that normall holds the lens on. If anything breaks those lamp units are cheap as chips e.g. £4.99 here. Brian Deacon
Hi. Glad they are cheap, just broke it. Your were right, just self welded by the rubber ring. Lens ok but back assy broken. Probably be ok for the MOT, but will now leak water so maybe I will replace with something a little higher quality!
