Avon ZZR's or ZZS's ?

Ken I think you actually have ZZSs, which are the well-treaded tyre that has superseded the old CR500. Meanwhile ZZRs have very little tread and are the closest you can get to a road-legal slick - excellent on track, and in my view perfectly good for all road use except extreme wet conditions, (Although I have also used them in extreme wet conditions and they seemed fine to me)

best for Dry trackdays and or occasional dry road use?

No brainer - ZZRs!!

I don't do much touring and only bring it out on dry days, so considered tyres with any additional tread pointless. If I do get caught out in the rain, I just drive like a wuss.
