Blue_SV
HiAfter helpful advice on a previous question about red warning light, I am down to tightening the alternator belt as a remedy. Could someone give a quick run through the sequence? I have 1800 K; there seems to be an adjusting bolt on the end of the bracket. I would be grateful for some advice before loosening mounting bolts/turning adjusters to find the whole thing goes slack and I am worse off than before I started.... oilyhands
If the adjusting bolt is fitted, slacken the pivot bolt at the top a little, and slacken the clamp bolt that clamps the lower lug to the adjuster track/bracket. Now turn the adjusting bolt clockwise until the belt is at the desired tension. Re-tighten the adjuster track bolt and upper pivot bolt.Oily
