C7HJE
Manual says that a special tool is required to disconnect the fuel line from the engine! If this is true, where do I get one, or how do I disconnect it?C7HJE
ChrisC
No special tool, I just used my finger. I can't remember if it was a simple case of just pressing the locking tab, or if it have to be pulled out. Will check tonigh.
C7HJE
Thanks ChrisC.The instructions say (from memory) that you need to ensure that the fuel pipe is routed correctly, prior to connecting. 'Because it needs a special tool' to disconnect it!C7HJE
ChrisC
Yep I read that as well, but I removed my engine last winter, no special tools needed.
DJ.
The plastic connector has a press in section to unclip it. The special tool is required if the pipe is correctly located so there is a cover stopping access to the press in section. I used some 1/16 steel sheet and formed it into a curve to match the pipe and to make it more rigid. The tool then slides up between the cover and pipe. Then pull out the lower end of the tool while pulling the tube down.I have made it sound more complicated than it is.Duncan
C7HJE
Thanks for the feedback guys.Wont be removing the engine until it gets colder(!) so plenty of time to get a plan sorted.I have a very slow weep of oil from under the gearbox. It seems to be coming from the Gearbox/Bell housing join. But can't pin it down with the engine in the car!!!all the bestC7HJE

lads ar
When I removed my engine I managed to break the plastic fuel hose clip. All it does is sit under a collar and holds the hose in an "O" ring. On re fitting I pushed the hose into the "O" ring and replaced the clip with a cable tie.
