Kevsta
Hi all, I am replacing my belts (K series VVC EU2). The car has done approx. 3,500 miles since I last changed them (and the tensioner) and I'm wondering whether the tensioner would really need replacing? I know some may say just replace it as a matter of course but would the tensioner really be wearing our the bearings from time (rather than revolutions)? I'd appreciate your thoughts (I have inspected and no friction when spinning it and it seems very clean and perfectly serviceable). I would change all belts again in 4 years (the time the current belts and tensioner have been in as I replaced it last time round). Klunk
Hi Kev, If visually okay, smooth running and no grease coming out I would say they are fine; especially as you know the history of them . Regards, Giles
