Dave Rayner
POBC has anyone ran a Supersport 140 in any speed event with the peashooter 4" silencer? or as I suspect, will I need to obtain a "quieter" can rather than be kicked out before I turn a wheel! I suspect the i-phone app may be a starting point so any suggestions most welcome
Ian B
Dave, I have a noise meter, and if I can find it 😳 I could bring it along to the North Kent meeting tomorrow evening for a test. Don't know what the Sprinting limits are though.
Stationary M25 Traveller
Doug has the 140 with peashooter ..... very noisy. He has to use the quieter silencer for track days.
Dave Rayner
Thanks guys, I will try to get down Ian but it sounds like I may have to put another box on.
Drumster
Dave, sprint events are generally 105db static.
IanJ
I have a '97 1.6K Supersport with a 4" silencer that's done over 30K miles. It's quite loud, but doesn't normally register above 102 dBA on a static test. It's too loud for drive by at Donington and Bedford, but haven't had any problems at Anglesey, Brands, Cadwell, Spa, Rockingham, Snetterton. Ian B
Dave, sorry but it looks like my sound meter is at the office, and I'm afraid I've not been there so far this week so won't have it with me tonight. You could try a post on the NK Meeting thread to see if anyone else has one they can bring along. Sorry, Ian
Dave Rayner
Thanks everyone for the advice, I've now made the decision to purchase the quiet version to avoid any problems!!
