Roger Ford
iPhone 4 or 4s needed, preferably 16GB or more. Must be on Vodafone or unlocked (or unlockable). Might even consider a 3GS if cheap enough. Anyone upgraded and got one sitting around? Need to convince SWMBO to move off her ancient Nokia. Thanks. simonpa
Good luck with that. I bought SWMBO a smartphone for her birthday a couple of weeks ago. She didn't even take it out of the box - just told me to take it back as she would never have need of the extra functionality over her ancient 6310... Roger Ford
Meanwhile if anyone has a 4S available I'm still interested.
Krismuss
I'm putting SWMBO's 4S up for sale shortly though it"s currently on orange (just in case you fancy a network change or getting it unlocked) Chris
Roger Ford
Have you tried asking Orange to unlock it? If it's out of contract, they should do it free, and it will be worth more to sell then. I think it's much harder for a subsequent owner to unlock it (though I may be wrong). David
I will have a 4 in black 16Gb available in a few weeks, just waiting for a 5s replacement. The 4 is on Orange but I have no experience of "unlocking". Let me know if this is of interest.
Roger Ford
Seems Orange / EE charge £20.42 to unlock a phone. See details here. Only the account holder can unlock it, so it wouldn't be feasible for me (for example) to buy it off you and then unlock it.
David
That seems simple enough but it would add 3 weeks to the process. Not sure if that timing works for you?
Pendennis
Roger 3GS in white on Vodafone available from Tuesday next, if your still interest ping me an offer
Roger Ford
Any chance of unlocking it? I think we might need to move her off Vodafone, as their PAYG data charges are stupid, so would probably need to be unlocked. Should be free to unlock if you've had it from new. Roger Ford
Sorry to be a pain folks, but it looks like an iPhone isn't going to be the best option after all (due to incompatibilities with the Ford / Microsoft SYNC system in her car) so probably going to go with a Moto-G instead.
