So Barry, I know you're busy but have you had a chance to consider this here (or here) yet.

It's similar to Vanessa's request here (or here)

 

There have also been several suggestions to split 'For Sale' into 7 and non-7 bits, perhaps you could add a 'services' section to each bit so people offerring 7 services, and non-7 services, can post in the relevant section 🤔

I will do this, but probably sometime after the new year, when the membership renewal rush has died down and I can think a little more about what it will involve.

 

It will for instance, be open to club members only, either to view or to post, and probably also to those companies who advertise in Low Flying.

Would it be beneficial to members to allow outsiders to view? I sold my cams recently through BC to a non member which seems reasonable to me.

I must confess that I am yet to be convinced.

I think the "No commercial advertising" rule is a good one, although flouted in some cases. It is difficult sometimes because there are inevitably borderline examples. When does it become Commercial?

The current status quo is OK and once you start to allow more ostentatious commercialism, I think it will become ever more difficult to manage.

But the point is it would be separated from the chitchat stuff, so it's not like you'd have to wade through loads of posts from people offering their businesses wares in 'normal' topics.

 

I would suggest it would be best limited to members posting but allow anyone reading?

 

It would be such a shame no to take advantage of the wealth of our own members resources.
