TomGaval
As I'm doing a lot of trackdays, I'd like to get a Hans device, but from what I understand the standard mounting points for the sholder harnesses are too widely spaced for proper functioning of the HANS device. What are the possible solutions to modify the mounting points? Obviously I can't just take the car to Arch. Tom
david nelson
There is a solutions . Chris Gibbs in discussion with the MSA uses a extension plate. TomGaval
Thanks Dave. Email sent. I have the stock fabric seatback, with a foam bead seat bottom to get me lower, and the headrest is the Caterham one that attaches to the rollbar. Roger Ford
Rollbar? You're going to get a HANS device before fitting a full cage?
Grubbster
In the Academy if we want to use a HANS the only option we can use is to go back to Arch to get new shoulder harness bosses welded in, nothing else is accepted in our regs ☹️ Quite a trip for me next Thursday for a short job to be done! TomGaval
Cage is in the works.
david nelson
I think you will need to change your seat. The leather/cloth seats do not offer any lateral support. Their is also the need for the height/angle of the straps to be within limits see HANS or Stand 21 web site. David
