MartinH
Hi All, The rod from the inside of one of my door hinges has escaped. Can I get a replacement? Looks like brass, kind of knurled at one end. Is this a standard part? What is its real name? Cheers, Martin
Grubbster
Yes they are available, I think this is what you're looking for. There are 2 versions - one is longer and has a threaded end so you can fix the doors on, the knurled end is designed to stay fixed in the plastic bit of the hinge. The Wasp
But Martin they don't work with your aero
Ian B
You may want to check with Darren in parts, as the SV has metal door hinges, not plastic, so may be different pin?

If you don't want to take the doors off regularly would recommend the longer threaded version - i had a door 'lift off' on a French motorway! (bottom strap was undone to aid ventilation) David
MartinH
Simon, Er... yes, guilty of switching back to windscreen this weekend for the Stoneleigh run. Didn't fancy a drowning. Of course it was dry and sunny most of the flippin' day in the end! Penn blats and track days - defo aero. Long trips - windscreen with full hood in the boot (I feel no shame!!) Ian, good point. I'll double check with Parts at CC. SV hinges are indeed metal not plastic. David - scary! More so for the Seven behind if there was one! Mogster
Was quite surreal! One moment the door was there, the next it wasn't and my girlfriend was half hanging out the car as she managed to grab hold of just as it took off. David
