TomGaval
Getting ready for the upcoming trackday season. What is the recommended camber setting for an Superlight with widetrack front for bias ply slicks? Tom
Pendennis
Obviously the rears would remain roughly static, set them @ 0.5 degree negative. However, the front would vary dependant upon track camber and orientation. In the UK most circuits are clockwise, thus left front loads up and goes into positive camber, so your need to state whether the track is anti or clockwise. But as a base, set the track inside wheel at 1 degree negative and the loaded front at 1.2 degree negative. But you may wish to more aggressive and dial in some more, I.E. 1.2 inside and 1.5 loaded. Either way remember to check and adjust the toe with the camber as it will move each time your adjust one or the other. 30 mins of front toe out is also a good static position to aim for. TomGaval
Thanks, My home tracks run clockwise, with only 2 or 3 left hand turns.
Pendennis
Will it be hot?
TomGaval
First trackday is March 24th so no, but in June/July and August we can see 90F in the shade all day, Then it cools back down in Sept, Oct and Nov.
Pendennis
I tend to vary front camber settings as I stated depending on track, temperature and tyre age. New and hot = less, old and cold = more agressive, but I always have some more negative front left Enjoy
Croc
Quoting Pendennis: so you need to state whether the track is anti or clockwise. It really does not matter for Tom - he is slow in both directions Hi Tom Edited by - Croc on 22 Feb 2012 12:18:
TomGaval
Croc, you may be faster at times, but you spend waay too much time off track in the grass. I know you enjoy "gardening" and with that truck motor you have you must often forget what you're driving and think your in a pickup truck and start your off track adventures. You do create quite a dust storm when you're "going Fast" 😬 See you on track in a month. Tom Edited by - TomGaval on 22 Feb 2012 20:45:
