jakeandlizzy
Mine are toast -- track rod ends especially and I think the top wishbone rod ends may be getting old (about 20k/18 mos) on them as it was that long ago when I changed to aero wishbones. ...unless there is a better alternative to the caterham products? myothercarsa2cv
Threw my old ones away, sorry They were toast though. I think the top rod ends are by Fiat?
jakeandlizzy
yeah, I guess I pushed mine too far if you only got a couple of k out of them! I would have thought they would last longer than 5k miles! ...but I thought the same about the shocks, brake switch, suspension bits, powdercoating, etc. . Always the optimist. myothercarsa2cv
They were fine until I removed them 12K on them. ETA found the part number for top joints: QR1118S Should be available almost anywhere! John Hughes
I believe the QR1118S ball joint from a Fiat is used when converting the single link to a De Dion upper wishbone to attach to the original "trunnion" upright on a live axle. The taper is different on the De Dion upright with the spherical joint lower wishbone. DO NOT USE A QR1118S with The De Dion upright The correct ball joint is QR1798 Edited by - John Hughes on 3 Jun 2011 19:18:
Dutchy
I have 2 brand new top wishbone rod ends! Yours if your interested? Steve
Paul Deslandes
Dutchy, if Jake doesn't want them I'll take them provided they'll fit a widetrack de Dion. Paul
