NRG
Hi, I am a new member of the L7 Club, enjoying the regular invites to track days. Very tempted to take my 7 to somewhere like Brands as a complete novice, but unsure if the car qualifies. How do I know she has a "MSA acceptable" rollover bar? Any advice or pointers gratefully accepted NRG
andy21
Hi, I went through this last year. Standard roll bar is fine for track days - it's just the L7C track days that require a `FIA` roll bar. These have the cross bracing, the standard one doesn't...
Support Team Shaun_E Posted March 17, 2011 Support Team Share Posted March 17, 2011 The "FIA" bar looks like this (early version) or this (later version). If there is no cross bracing of the main hoop then it isn't an FIA bar. Edited by - Shaun_E on 17 Mar 2011 14:07:
NRG
Cheers guys. Thanks very much for the swift responses... Seems my car has a much less sturdy looking rollover bar...ruling me out for the club events. Might have to stick to being a spectator. ☹️ I am not considering competitions....I do my racing in yachts! NRG
Wrightpayne
NRG, keep an eye out in 'for sale' as they come up quite often - seem to be about £150 to £200 depending on condition and if the come with the petty strut (extra brace into passenger footwell) ian
Markiebabes
I have one in the for sale section 😬 if your still looking ?
Wight Skipper
NRG, what I did after I got my 7, as it had the regular roll bar, was to do an easytrack day at Brands Indy. Great fun and no problem. Just keep an eye on your mirrors! Go for it!
