James7
Is the petty strut for FIA bars with a single diagonal the same for long cockpit live axel and de dion cars? There is one for sale near to me, advised to be ‘40" long and I believe it fits the long cockpit LA chasis’. Would it fit my 2004 ex academy car with single diagonal FIA, using the hole by the front of the passenger cill from the original full cage mounting? Cheers James
MusCat
Petty struts come in 2 sections which slide over one another. You drill holes in 2 section and bolt them together so the length suits your individual car. If it is a new undrilled petty strut you'll be fine as you can adjust to suit. If it is drilled the only sure way would be to offer it up to your car to see if it fits.
Sheds Moderator
The seller is near you, I'd say "if it fits mine I'll take it". You turn up with the car and if it bolts in then the deal is done. If not, "sorry mate" and you go home.
