Windy Corner
My Sigma 150 has an oil catch tank on the LHS of the engine compartment. I have twice now had to empty it, with a bout 2 inches of oil in it each time. Does this mean I / CCM have overfilled the engine and it chucks out the excess, or is some excess a good thing ?? Any guidance appreciated Rik Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150 in Viper Blue here
jchasey
I've found that if there is any oil much over the minimum level then the excess gets spat into the catch tank. (This is usually in race conditions). With more than 2" in then in race conditions the contents of the catch tank start getting spat over the engine bay 😳 So now I check oil is just over minimum and catch tank is at low level before each session.
