Sandboy
Can someone tell me what vehicle the fan switch originally comes from? Need to get one this morning so that I can run rebuilt engine in ready for track day on Monday. Unfortunately don't have the original to hand to take into motor factor. Thanks in anticipation. JampJ
It's a 22mm thread, Fiesta ones fit, but you need to check the temp that they cut in at. Should be written on the side of your old one. Cheers John JFDI (Just F*****g Do It)
Sandboy
John, Cheers, got the temps, so hopefully guy in motor factor will have all he needs now. Thanks again.
Paul Deslandes
These switches are notoriously unreliable and fail, I believe, because they don't like the transient surge when switching on/off the fan motor. I got through several until I added a relay and haven't changed one now for nearly ten years! There was a thread on here the other day describing the addition of a remote switch that shows how to add a relay and lnked to Myles's site here at the bottom of the page. JampJ
Always a good idea to fit a manual overide switch. Cheers John JFDI (Just F*****g Do It)
Sandboy
Paul/John, Thanks for advice on fan override/relay. Actually planned to install manual fan switch, based on that very article, once engine back in. So if I have time this weekend as well as putting at least 500 miles on the engine and replacing bushes and ball joints on FARB then it will be done, definitely in time for 'ring trip next weekend. Thanks again.
