Midnight
I've been trying to get hold of some 'short' X-Flow oil filters (the ones you use when tan oil cooler is fitted to the pump via an adaptor which requires a much shorter filter 79mm). Caterham are out of stock but gave me a part code of GFE148. to try with local motor factors. I've tried this part code on a number of motor parts suppliers with no luck. Other than a long trip to Burtons or via the post, Do any of you guys know of any suppliers who might stock the short Ford oil filter near Maldon ,Essex. These days when I go into my local Ford dealer and ask for X-flow parts for the 7 they look at you like your talking double Dutch, so no luck there either. Drumster
Midnight, I, too, use the short oil filter on my x/flow, but the part no. I use at my local motor factors is PH2874 and the cost is usually less than a five inc. VAT. Might be worth a try quoting that no. Graham Perry
I have always fitted the Ford EFL500 filter on my crossflow as recommended by Roger King. Its not exactly a deep filter and a dealer should have one as its been fitted to several cars over the years. I think Ford do make a shallower version but it has a different number.
