Duratec Fuel Filter

Have I got to look a little harder or is there a conspicuous absence of a fuel filter on the CC provided Duratec engined cars?

 

I can't think of why you'd run without one so I'm considering installing one during the build, if my suspicions are correct and a fuel filter has been ommitted.

The K series injected cars has it fitted by CC On the chassis/bulkhead infront of rear axle on the O/S Passenger bulkhead external - so underneath

 

I thought CC fitted the fuel system into the chassis build even for the kit form cars, have you looked there?

 

It maybe different on the duratec cars - Cant see why though

With a little more investigation it turns out the filter is in the fuel system recessed into the fuel tank.

 

Didn't think there could be such a signifcant oversight in the design.

Generally there should be 2 fuel filters: before & after the pump.

 

On the K series cars there is a pre-filter in the tank, along with the pump, but this is to protect the pump. There is a separate filter on the O/S Passenger bulkhead external as mentioned earlier to protect the injectors & engine.

 

Now it is possible that CC are using a new all in one pre-filter, pump & high pressure filter but I would check with them just to make sure.
