Slippers
Hey Guys, first post here!! Just joined. I am currenty trying to put a zetec into an SV but i've hit a problem. The bellhousing from a sierra type 9 doesn't seem to want to fit in between the foot wells as the starter motor bulge fouls it just as the edge of the clutch release hole fouls the drivers side. Is this a known issue and i've missed something, or am i doing something wrong. any thoughts and feelings would be great Cheers
John Gaines
I have a zetec in my seven and the fit will be close but it does go.Have you the correct gearbox to bellhousing spacer? I think Phil Walters web site has a lot of images IIRC. Are you putting in an alloy bellhousing? this is a major weight saving on the cast iron boat anchor thing I think rally design supplies them. Good luck, John Gaines
Slippers
Is your seven an SV? I have to heavily modify the bellhousing to get it anywhere near.
John Gaines
No it is a '97 live axle.
S47zz
Angle grind off the offending bit, just cut off the minimum amount to give clearance.
Slippers
Yeah, i've had to cut the starter motor bulge fairly substancially and a little bit off the hole for the clutch arm. Not difficult, just unexpercted.
