elie boone
Is there an uprated clutch pressure plate available for the Blakbird engine? For the second time the clutch has exploded and i need a solution for it. The whole clutch system is 100% original from the bike even down to the clutch mastercil. STEVE GILBERT
Isn't it like my Blade with a clutch basket/plates and seperate springs? If so you will be able to get uprated springs and plates. What has actually 'failed'? Steve See My Caterham Fireblade Here.

Blackbirdman
Also you can just uprate the springs. I did and so far no clutch problems. Just don't mention the gearbox ☹️ Matt Life begins at 10,
elie boone
The first time the clutch broke was because i used a Girling mastercil. witch was to big for the slave cil. I had this changed to the original bike mastercil. The new owner told me on the phone that nearly all the springs where out of the clutch cover plate and there was a big hole in te g.box cover where the clutch is. Maybe the ali. clutch cover plate is'nt strong enough and it needs a steel one ?
Blackbirdman
I have hear that if you uprate the springs then you can have problems witht he slave cyl or the ali cover plate. So far so good for me though. Matt Life begins at 10,
elie boone
I've just heard that he did lock a wheel while going down the g.box could this be the reason ?
elie boone
Problem solved, the slave cilinder may not move more than 11mm and it had a tad more putting to much strain on the clutch bolts resulting in clutch faillure.
