Returning to the fold - reality check

I bought and built my first Caterham in 1995 but not had one for many years until this one. It's a Supersport 1.8 K-series with superlight suspension. Car is 1998 model but very well put together. Six-speed with LSD means it will be ready for my planned excursion into sprinting next year. In the meantime I have a few changes to make;

I have ditched the full hood for a SB half hood. Some challenges fitting the side poppers but resolved when I replaced the ones on the bodywork too. Recently attended the Throckmorton Handling Day, which was enjoyable but wet (I have the requisite shower cap). As a result I have discovered a quirk with the half hood. The return journey was very wet but the hood coped well. I had the reported ingress of water at the front of the doors but that would have happened anyway. The main issue was a soaking wet boot. When it is very wet the rain rolls off the hood, down the roll bar braces in into the boot. Anyone else had this? I am thinking I need some sort of collar above the boot cover.

My Toyo R888s coped very well with the wet considering they are cut like intermediates. I notice these tyres will require me to move up a class under current regs so might need to rethink the choice, shame. If there were no other limitations I would stay with the Toyos as they have been great in wet a dry. I have 13 inch wheels, 6 inch wide front and back btw.

I now have a pair of half doors for when I go Aero. Looking for a carbon aero to match my carbon dash. I don't have the poppers at the bottom of the door so these need to be fitted. I can't wait to try the 'wind in the hair' motoring experience. Will have to get some decent goggles or impact resistant glasses though.

Last necessity is to source a petty strut for my FIA (single diagonal) roll bar.

Nice to have is 5.75 inch (black) lights to replace the 7 inch ones. I have read that the standard ones are not very bright so will look at options. I want these mainly for esthetics but might cut down a bit more wind resistance too. Anyway, when I get a chance I'll post some pictures.
