Well done *thumbup*

Looks superb in that colour scheme, when I spec'd a 160 up earlier this year that or just a yellow nose band was my plan too, since then I've bought a 2012 k-series car in those colours anyway.

Good luck with the IVA and DVLA.

Thanks, Simon.

By the way, sorting through the bits left over (please tell me you had a few too...) I found a short strip of rubber trim (8" long or so), stiffened with a metal wire insert. Then it dawned on me... it's to fit around the edge of the air intake, making a seal with the side of the hood. Can't remember any mention of this in the Assembly Guide!

Ah that is what that rubber strip is for...

I did have plenty of bits left over. I imagine that some of the bags are standard bags also used for other models.

Caterham charged me 2 hours at the PBC to tidy up various things. I didn't know the trick to fitting the front brake hoses and they seeped slightly. They also did some tidying up of the engine - which may have included the rubber strip that you describe.

One thing this might be worth checking is the washers on the rear brake setup - I think that a few of us had this changed in the PBC. I haven't checked because I haven't got my car back yet; but maybe the manual wasn't 100% clear.

By the way, what about a 160 meet planned for the 8th August (please post on my original blog if you can make it.)

Thanks for the tips, Simon. PBC is booked for beginning of June, so it gives me some time to go over the car again.

Hi Ned, car looks great, well done.  I've found another little problem, as I was fitting my high level brake light I took one of the rear wheels off, down on the side panel close by both seats is a hole(it must be used by a different suspension arm) I put finger through it and discovered it went straight through to inside the wheel arch.  Perfect place for major water ingress from the wheel arch itself.  On one side it is completely open and on the other a small amount of wing piping partially covers the hole.  I had some spare socket head screws left over so I've put a 40mm one in each hole with a washer and nut on the wheel arch side. i've also ordered some 16mm blanking grommets to  make the paasenger side panel look neat I will let you all know if this works

Thanks Martin!

I was looking at exactly the same thing when I put the wings on. The piping covers half the hole, but the rest is open to the elements. I was thinking of using a blanking grommet too, with a healthy dollop of silicone sealant too.

Hi Ned.

I know this is way our sequence with the blog above but I must congratulate you on your Goodwood footage. Excellent presentation and how the hell did you get those dials and course map on it - you must be an IT wizard!

Are you going to Handcross for the London to Brighton on Sunday; if so I'll probably see you there........if the promised foggy morning is not too bad.

Hi Peter

I'm off to Ally Pally on Sunday, for the Classic and Sports Car show. I was thinking of dropping into Hyde Park to see the send-off..

The dials and GPS etc are really easy. You can get a very cheap OBD2 sensor from eBay, which plugs into the multi-connector by your right knee (behind the big rubber IVA grommet unless you've removed it!).

This talks to lots of phone apps (I use one called Torque), and send the engine data straight to the phone, along with GPS data. On the Goodwood track, I put this into a PC add called RaceRender (free unless you want a fancier version), and this ties the video, the OBD2 datra, and the GPS data altogether into one. You can even add a different soundtrack, multi camera angles etc etc etc...!

Took a few minutes' thought to work it all out, but it's very useful.

All the best

Ned
