Sunday 5th April and we decided to drive down to the Goodwood Breakfast Club for the first time in about a year. Weather looked good, and we had friends to drive down with.

I managed to persuade everyone that we should get a really early start, as it fills up really quickly now it has become an established event. So, at about 6.30am, Steve & Felicity, Mark & Sharon, Neil, Tessa & I set off down from Godalming. Amazingly, we did not meet a single car on the way down, so it was a great early Blat…

…and getting there really early meant that we would get a good parking spot!

X-Bow always generated interest, but I’m not sure…it has some nice touches, but to me the ‘sum’ looks a little ungainly – maybe it is that ‘bumper’ at the front, or the fact that it is bigger than you think it may be….

The most common thing that could be heard around the paddock on this ‘Family Favourites’ day was ‘My Dad had one of them…’ Well, we had one of these (though a more basic model!) I can just about remember this car from when I was very young…

We left the crowds (leaving before the plane incident!) and set off back home to watch the eventful Malaysian F1 GP – the roads were not quite as quiet as when we had set off in the morning, but the sun was out and it was fun to just re-discover the joys of the casual Blat…
