First big service

It is amazing to me that I have had my Scarlet for a year and what a year it has been. After all the fun of the past twelve months it was time to get down to some maintenance. The first big service happens after 4 years and there is a lot to do. As I have no real idea when it comes to cars I decided to enlist the services of my brother-in-law who luckily enough is an excellent Saab technical wizard. I turned up at the garage on Saturday morning bright and early with my a boot full of parts and fluids and a service manual with a complete list of the jobs we needed to get through.

I was surprised how long the whole job took to complete and delighted with the job that was made of the allen key modified by Graham so that he could get the gearbox filler plug out. The same tool works well for the diff.

So Scarlet has a clean bill of health and is ready to run for another 12 months. It was great to be able to see the whole job done from start to finish it gives me real piece of mind.

Just got to give Scarlet another wash and polish and then Helen and I are off the Hampshire for our 31 wedding anniversary.
