It has been a while since I was able to drive the car, we have had so much salt put down due to cold weather, however the last week has seen tons of rain and I decided that it had been enough to clear the salt way. Helen was away last night so that means I don't get a very good sleep( I miss her) but it does mean I can get up early and that's what I did today. With the promise of a dry morning I got up and headed for the garage. Over the Christmas period I knocked the rear number plate of the car and that had to re attached before I could set out. I had prepared the plate and the bracket before hand so two new double sided tape panels and the job was done. First off to the petrol station to load up with fuel and then I set out with no route in mind. I drove for some time before I turned off onto the road from Codicote to Hitchin. I had a wonderful drive out to Hitchin mind you the roads are very greasy and I had to take great care over braking and applying the loud pedal. Still it was a fab half and hour or so. Then it started to look a bit more like rain than I was expecting and I decided to make a run for home, I was surprised how dry the car was when I got back, I gave it a quick leather checked the fluids and put the hood up to give it a streach. I purchased a CTech battery conditioner after losing a battery before Christmas and this has taken the worry out of having a flat battery. so that got connected. Now I have to wait for the exhaust to cool down and then the cover can go on ready for next time. Roll on spring.
