  1. Now sold

These were used for approx 5 sprints and about 200 miles on the road so not even 1 1/4 worn. The wheels are all straight and are black with polished rims, could do with a refurb, usual marks from tyre changes etc.

Fantastic tyres, the car was sold last year so clearing out the wheels and tyres I used for sprinting.

Price £300 ono, based in St Albans

  2. Used for 2 races at brands and 1 trackday, these were purchased in 2016 so are not EU marked for road use but are perfect for trackdays and racing e.g. graduates.

They are on minilights which are powder coated orange and have the usual chips in paint however are all straight. Tyres are approx 1/3rd worn so loads of life left.

I'm based in St Albans, £350

  3. I bought 4 new ZZS tyres for sprinting in July 2017 and these are on 4 x minilights. I have done approx 4 sprints so in reality less then 100 miles so these are literally just scrubbed in.

The wheels could do with a refurbish however are straight and basically its just the lacquer that has lifted in places due to tyre fitting.

I'm based in St Albans and I'm asking £450 for the set of 4.

    Thanks

  4. Hi I'm selling my Simpson FHR device as I am no longer racing. I purchased this is 2016 and have run this in my Caterham academy car with lowered floors.

I'm a 38 inch chest and the small fits 36-40 inch chest.

Its in great condition having only been used for about 10 events (5 race weekends and 5 sprints) and has all stickers inc of MSA scrutineering and FIA FHR standards in place. Tethers are like new and I found it very easy  and comfortable in use.

    £350.00

  5. im based in St Albans and have a 1.6k ex academy car from 2006 with the standard open diff and 5 speed box.

syncro from 1st to second looks like it’s in the way out so was looking for any recommendations for someone to fix the gearbox and install an lsd?

Any recommendations greatly received! I can’t be bothered to take the gearbox and diff out at the moment so would love a drive in and out service :)

  6. Bought some pagid pads and they went straight in, they were 2 quid more then the cheap set I bought so clearly its worth spending the extra!

More importantly the fronts now lock before the rears...balance is restored

  7. No at the top of the pads you have the spring which pushes the pads in place, these are simply to strong to enable you to push down on the caliper body to get the bolts aligned. Think it might just be the pads so will try another brand

  8. I'm in the process of switching out the rear mintex pads for standard pads on my 2006 k series academy car (switching to class 1 tyres has meant there is now too much rear bias).

The pads are sierra standard pads however when I attempt to fit them although the pad shape is all correct the top springs are so strong they prevent me from physically pushing the caliper pad holder thingy down far enough to get the bolts back in!

Anyone else had this, the mintex go straight in, no probs.

  9. I have just switched to a539 tyres to compete in class 1 sprints and I now have major rear brake bias, the rears lock up very easily and frustratingly I had to keep coming off the brakes to stop the car spinning at high speed.

Is anyone running higher friction front pads to help balance the rear bias when switching to lower grip tyres?

    Thanks in advance

  10. I'm sure like most I'm always looking at potential new toys!

Was wondering what class a 310 would fall into? Does this squeeze into class 2/3 or is just the 270 that now falls into these classes?

  11. Hi All

Just a quick question on the above and the recent MSA rule change re extinguisher servicing.

Running in grp 1 an extinguisher is optional however I do have one fitted. Its not been serviced in my ownership does this mean:

    1. I can ignore as this item is optional

    2. Has to be serviced as its fitted

    3. If I remove the bottle then I can forget about this

    Thanks

  12. Last session on a drying track (last sprint run) I was a little optimistic with my entry speed and didn't fall off but did clatter a cone.

I have a smack right on the top middle part of the wing however no cracks so I think it just needs to be filled and sprayed black.

Any advice on techniques/guides and filler greatly received :)
