I've recently had exactly the same problem, had a small amount of clearance on both sides when the car was jacked up and suspension in full droop, but rubber boot fouled on RHS when suspension was in the loaded position. Very close on other side but a slight gap. I ended up fitting a second thin spacer between upright and rear bearing on both sides which sorted it (they are approx 1.5mm thick). Instructions I had with the hub upgrade kit said to fit one or two thin spacers as required but of course only two were supplied but a friend had a couple of spares. I found with the second spacer fitted the disc also centralised more accurately in the calliper but I did have to use a slightly smaller diameter split pin to lock the castelled nut due to it not quite lining up with the holes in the stub axle.

Thanks for the feedback. Just ordered from Radtec, had the "which coolant" discussion, recommend blue as expected but red won't invalidate warranty apparently. Seems to be a can of worms having read the various threads highlighted by JK and their explanation seemed more based on anecdotal evidence of its impact on the brazed joints rather than anything more scientific. Will have another read of the coolant threads after a couple of wines tonight!

I need a new radiator for my 1.6K series and having read through several previous threads on radiators it seems there are a lot of issues with leaking aluminium radiators, particularly from Caterham. I'm leaning towards a Radtec replacement from what I've read but would welcome any thoughts, positive or otherwise on Radtec or any other possible options.
If anyone has a decent original copper radiator they want to sell please let me know as would also consider a direct replacement.

Just had my rear dampers from a 2000 car refurbished by Bilstein, £236 all in including return delivery and VAT. Took about 3 weeks and very straightforward. Would have been extra for powder coating and a longer lead time but mine were in reasonable cosmetic condition so I didn't bother.

Thanks for the feed back. Any chance of a photo of the race stays fitted via PM?

I need replacement cycle wing stays and there seems to be a couple of options. Car is S3 imperial chassis. Currently running 13" Toyo R888's, there appears to be either the standard stays for 13/14" wheels or lowered stays for Avon ZZS/ZZR's which are a lower profile than the 888's. Does anyone have experience of using the lower stays with 60 profile tyres and if they will be suitable without tyres fouling and ease of removal/fitting wheels?
I'm sure I've recently seen a thread covering this topic but can't find it again!

Thanks for the information. I have a new pair of Piper verniers, just have to decide whether it's worth fitting them so will check the current timing to see how far out it is.
#6 Oily, just to clarify, are the figures you quoted for Supersport (1.6, year 2000, 135bhp) cams of 50/44 thou the ideal values for inlet/exhaust valves respectively at TDC?
Thanks

Thanks for all the information, a new pump it is then.

Just about to do a cam belt change on my 1.6 K Series. Just wondering, what is the general view of also changing the water pump at the same time as a precaution? No issues with it the but car is 20 odd years old with 30k miles on the clock, also planning a coolant change so not much more effort to change the pump at the same time.

Is the Caterham Cars Archivist contactable by email or is it a phone call to Caterham? -
I have a year 2000 1.6 Superlight, factory built and supplied with LSD from new. From background reading I'm assuming it will be a ZF differential but is that correct and is there an easy way to check?
