  1. Thanks all,

£30 a corner sounds more like my kind of price too, does that include blasting the old coating? If others are planning wheel refurb this autumn maybe a bulk buy would secure further discounts?

  2. Thanks for these links Jonathan, I was not looking far enough in the past. Birmingham probably a bit far but I'll have a look at the Leeds place that is mentioned.

    Thanks for your help!

  3. So, after 6 years the wheels of my Caterham are starting to look more than a bit tired with flaking powder coating and some corrosion setting in. Would I be right in assuming that the best way forward will be to get them stripped (shot blasted?) and re-coated? Are there any alternatives (they are too far gone to simply touch-up)? Can anyone recommend anywhere in or near Leeds that might be able to help me at a reasonable cost?

Apologies if this is an FAQ, I've done some searching and not found much. Thanks for any advice.

  4. Hi Luegonigel,

How long have you had your Sigma 150? I have one of the early ones (2007). In the early days it suffered from pinking in high gear and low revs, popping and banging on the over-run (which I didn't mind too much) and gutless performance at altitude (e.g. alpine passes).

It's had at least 2 map updates by Caterham Midlands when being serviced and the first two problems are much improved, I haven't had the opportunity to drive an alpine pass recently. It might be worth getting Caterham to check the map and the other adjustments if there's any possibility you are not on the latest.

    Rob.

  5. Red with white stripe coming off the ferry in hull to a very wet UK. Presume you'd been to the Classic. Followed you up a saturated M62 for a while.
  6. Proxy spot from a fellow enthusiast (a Land Rover man):

"Saw a black body, yellow wheel arch Caterham like yours today parked in the Olive Tree car park by the Rodley roundabout. Two gents were putting on their woolly hats and getting ready for a drive somewhere. The reg ended in JVC - it looked and sounded very nice and what a great day for a ride!"

  7. I'm Leeds based but get to Malvern to visit my Dad from time to time. Next trip with 7 likely to be May to do Stoneleigh. I wonder if there is a Malvern contingent going there this year? Rob
