  1. Firstly thanks to Jeremy and Dave Thomas for being so fast on the spanner's on Saturday to replace the snapped clutch cable! And to Clive for 'lending' me a replacement. Apologies for then going quicker than Jeremy.

Also thanks to Malcolm for trying to get me back going after more clutch/ gearbox trouble on Sunday, and to Lewis and Ian for the provision of tools for Dr Hickey.

Another example of how good our championship is!

Engine is out and the problem has been identified. Half of the clutch plate is no longer attached, so a nice straightforward fix. Hopefully once the parts are here it will be back together in time for Wiscombe.

If you know me you don't need to ask how it's out and on the way to being resolved so quickly! But it's great to be part of this championship!

  2. Hi,

following a house move I'm selling my Ifor Williams CT115. Made in 2006, I purchased it in 2013 and it has been stored in a garage ever since. I used it to transport my SV to club speed events in 2013 & 2014 before I switched to a competition focused S3. In only selling as it doesn't fit through the door of the garage at my new house. It comes with 3 spare wheels and LED lights ready for a conversion.

most of these trailers are asking £2000.

it toes brilliantly and has done all over country also acting as a great workshop tool, allowing access to change engine, gearbox oils as well as other maintenance.

happy for people to view. I do have it registered withIfor Williams.
buy it now on eBay is 1700 but could do something for a club member.

  3. I’m having a clear out of some of the sets of wheels I have amassed as I’m moving house.

I have a set of SLR wheels For sale, they have CR500 tyres on currently but they are quite old. I have got centre caps for them. Looking for £600 as these were provisionally sold for that about 2 years ago but the buyer never collected.

I have a set of CXRs in Orange, not great with a red Caterham like mine. 13x7 fronts and 13x8.5 rears. Fronts currently have slicks on them and tears have Kumho V70 Supersoft compound tyres on. The wheels are in good condition. £450 the set.

i also have a pair of Grey CXRs which are brand new and never driven on. They arrived after my first event of last season so they have a used pair of Kumho’s V70s on again in Supersoft. £300.

Photos are available. Collection from Stafford ideally.

  4. Thanks to everyone for making it easy to run today’s test day. Hope everyone got out of it what they wanted. No real offs but Richard tried hard to show his passengers all aspects of the track and field. Sunburn is much better than March’s weather which was better suited for ducks

  5. I’ll put you on the list too Tony which will make you the 12th and last person but I know a couple are road cars so we’ll still be ok for paddock space and I also know a few people won’t be pounding round all day hogging the track.

For example I’m usually seen standing in the paddock as Graham dismantles my car!

  6. Having done a few days at Curborough and told people about it, inside and outside the club, I’ve had some interest in doing one in August.

I have spoken to David at Curborough and he has advised 2 days, Monday 6th or Tuesday 7th August. These happen to be straight after the Championship round at Harewood.

So before I sign my life away booking the day I wanted to gauge interest and see how many people I had in total interested.

Usual deal £70 per car, running one at a time round the sprint layout.

    Any questions let me know.

The car was ex demo and was bought from Stafford Land Rover and it has been serviced by the main dealer ever since. It has all the usual XS specification, heated part leather seats, rear part leather seats (forward facing) air con, tow pack etc.

It has got a few extras snorkel, BFG KO2 tyres, snow cowl.

The car has covered 100k but has rarely been used as a tow car and even on rarer occasions has this been off road (snorkel more for show)

    Price is £18,500 ono

If you’d like more info or photos please PM me.

  8. Hi Steve,

I will be speaking with David from Curborough tonight to arrange the finer details such as arrival times etc and then I will send a PM round to all of those on the list.

From my perspective I don't mind paying and collecting the money in but for anyone who feels forgetful they can PM me for some bank details to pay prior to the day.

    Thanks

    James

If anyone has any other questions over and above time of arrival or payment then let me know and I will try to answer them or find out an answer.

  9. Hi Chris,

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I’m glad that you are planning to enjoy some Motorsport through Autosolos this year.

I was planning on getting in touch with people a few weeks before to check attendance and the arrange payments.

    Thanks
