Actually, I would alter the thought process a bit. Rather than worrying about ultimate brakes and sticky tyres, I would start by approaching the whole thing as a "brisk drive on an unfamiliar country road", and really get to know the place before any heroics.
(found the place really scary the first time!)

Why not just ask Caterham

You say you can "hear the starter motor whirring" - is it actually turning the engine over?

.....every time I see one of these
No, I don't know why either.
Wrong forum, but I don't care

A3 2.0 Tdi DSG - 165,000 miles and no DSG problems at all. Famous last words.

Ah, thanks!

Stupid question (not based on experience, but O-level physics):-
Wouldn't heating the bolt tighten it rather than loosen it?

Thanks Pierson & RJ
All other USB applications work fine (printers, camera connection, joysticks etc) so could be u/s stick - I'll try a different one.
As you suggest, I would expect a later bit of kit to be backwards compatible.

My home PC is unable to recognise a memory stick when plugged into a USB port, either for retreiving info or saving.
A number of people have suggested that if my PC is a few years old (it is) it may not recognise a newer-generation memory stick.
A. Is this true? - sounds a bit odd
B. How can I get the PC to recognise up to date sticks?
C. Failing B., can I get hold of "older generation" memory sticks.
Guidance from a boffin would be much appreciated.

If ECR does not want it, I do! Where are you, or do you know how much would it be to send?
Thanks Jim

Surely the length of con rod does not affect the capacity??

I would take the immediate-money-back approach. Even if no lasting damage has been done, there will always be a nagging doubt.

No mail received - I've tried mailing you!

Yes please, if still available. £10 to NtL OK?

Thanks guys. I will live with it then - not a great problem. I was dreading a flood of posts talking of doom and disaster.

Audi 2.0 TDI:
When starting, if I release the ignition key immediately the engine fires, it runs really roughly for half a minute or so. If I keep the key turned only for about one second longer, it starts fine and runs absolutely fine thereafter.
Any ideas what the problem could be?

I read that first as "Tizer". DEFINITELY not the best thing.

Not amused? Did they think you were doing it on purpose
Fitting Tillett seats

Sounds like a wizard wheeze! Similar fitting issues with my leather S-type seats and, even when finally in, the base of the seat scrapes along the floor in a horrible seat/grit/aluminium interface.
Will probably give it a go.
