  2. I´m selling a rarely used track-day seat from my Caterham which had been made by MOG-Racing, also known as Westermann Motorsport in Germany. It´s made from 2x2 carbon and an additional Kevlar layer on the backside.Very good condition, looks like new. I´m kind of pedantic with my toys... 😬

You will need two brackets to fix the seat to the rear cockpit-panel and the floor, those brackets are NOT included. I got mine welded up from alloy at a local place for less than 50 Euros.

As already mentioned the seat is like new and has no damages to it. A new seat at MOG Racing currently costs EUR 855,00 plus shipping.

I´m selling mine for EUR 450,00 plus EUR 20,00 shipping. I´m situated in Germany but will ship worldwide (EUR 20,00 shipping for european/GB Countries, not overseas).

Please find below some pictures of the seat. If you have further questions please don´t hesitate to ask.

  3. I always buy my Michelin here in Germany from Formula BMW and F3 Race Teams. They usually have loads of Michelin slicks lying around, some of them with still 90% life left for little money.

Brand new ones are definitly quicker but it´s nonsense for track days to go for brand new ones.

  4. Having sat in the garage for nearly a year now I just called my Caterham back into live. Or at least I tried.

The stack dash shows 0.0 oil pressure while cranking, even after 20-30 seconds or so (no ignition). I did the same 3 month back and oil pressure came up after 5 or 6 seconds or so. Engine is a 280BHP VX.

    1) Stack sensor broken? How can I measure? Or just swapping the oil pressure sender against the fuel pressure sender to check?

    2) stuck oil pressure relief valve? Never experiences that before but heard about it.

Any other suggestion? Oil level in the dry sump tank is ok.

Have to get that sorted tomorrow, going to Dijon on saturday...

  5. Same with my HPC, I used aftermarket Aeroquips 90° for the rear calipers.

Straight coupling sounds bit wrong to me.

BTW: when filling the system with brake fluid again, make sure you position the caliper straight upwards, the bleeding nipple being the highest point. Not 70° but really 90°. It took me 3 litres ATE Blue until I realised there was still air trapped in the d*** caliper.

  6. I´m running a Montblanc store here in Germany and by fault we received twice a watch which had been on order for a customer. He was glad to get his but didn´t want a second one of the same type... 😬

You can get all details off the watch on the official website:

    http://www.montblanc.de/products/chronograph_chronograph_automatik.101657.php?searchresult

It´s a Montblanc Sport Steel Collection, 41.5mmcase, chrono automatic, black dial, rubber strap.

Original wrapped and sealed, never worn, delivered from Montblanc 2 weeks ago, factory guarantee.

The store sales price is EUR 2.260,00, blatchat price EUR 1.790,00 plus 15 Euros shipping to GB.

If you have further questions just drop me a mail.

And NO, it´s not a fake, we´re selling all kind of Montblanc goodies since 16 years now...

I can return the watch to Montblanc at any time but I thought someone here might be interested in a bargain.

  7. I tried several dry sump systems (SBD & QED) but the only system which worked faultlessly was the oe Caterham kit with the bellhousing/oil-tank. Wish I would have gone this route from the beginning, would have saved a lot of money. Whatever you do: don´t try to re-invent something which has been proofen to be successfull already before.

The SBD-kit gave me oil-temperatures well over 120°C in race conditions, even with an additional oil cooler. The Caterham system keeps temps rocksolid at max. 105 °C oil temp under tough race conditions on a hot day. Not sure which parts from the kit are still available.

  8. Don´t want to sound pedantic but a 6.5" rim can normaly not be made out of a 5" inner and 1.5" outer rim. In that case the wide of the mag-center would be zero. Can´t remember the construction of the MB exactly but in 99% of all cases 3-piece wheels consist out of the outer rim (x"), center part (+x") plus outer rim (x").
  9. I spent a fortune on different oil systems in my VX 7 and took the "original" route the latest, unfortunately. The original caterham dry sump system is bullet proof, lightweight, simple and it works. The only problems were associated with the drysump-bellhousing including the hydraulic clutch which leaked sometimes and lost clutch fluid. Have an updated clutch cyliner now and haven´t got any problems.

Engine makes 280+, is being raced and the highest oil temperature I saw was in southern France (Dijon) at very warm weather in a 30 minutes race: 110°C oil and 95°C water and that was with the loooong flatout 238km/h straight. No oil cooler.

My vote is defintily for the Caterham dry sump system. Even if a bit more expensive in the beginning, it would have saved me a fortune if I would have known earlier. I tried wetsump and SBD drysump in different stages before.
