If your really worried stop and spray it with WD40 or silicone spray and wipe over with a cloth - should give it some protection for the journey.

Best go down to M&S to get some new trousers and underpants - as you'll be needing a new pair 1st time your floor it!
Oh and save for a good exhaust.

Out of interest what do you expect a tweaked Duratec to costs, ie dry sump, ported head, big valves, billet rods and crank (to rev somewhere silly) but with some reasonable cams to make it an interesting but liveable drive, oh and what would it do BHP wise?
