I need to learn how to manufacture half doors - it could be quite lucrative.
Stewart you are right (you e-mailed me on the 9th dec), half doors will be available if a new owner doesn't want them.

Jonathan - that was me at bedford, thanks for the comment.
Everyone else - wasn't planning to split the parts out yet as I presumed new owner would want half doors etc. Thanks anyway. (I am amazed by the interest in the half doors ....

Has anyone successfully found something suitable for the Seven (K Series)? I saw some great ones fitted to most of the cars on the Jonathan Palmer motorsport experience but forgot to ask the name (hewland maybe?)
Couldn't find much from a search of BC.
thanks in advance

I think the foam does a great job, and now that I have fitted and road tested (at Snett) a manual overide switch for the fan, complete with cool ultra bright blue LED (thanks Chris W for the help), I don't worry too much about the extra heat kept in.
My Raceco is great, apart from Titanium is not as tough as I expected and a few fast corners at Brands (with a passenger - not that fat) and the speed humps at Bedford's entrace, have conspired to knock a hole in the back of the bl**dy can! Expensive hole!

My MOT woes are well known, and the reason, after advice from Nig. that I got myself an Emerald and a day with Dave on the rolling road. The result - 204BHP and 153lbsft. With swan neck TBs, 4-2-1, and Raceco. Nig. has also persuaded me not to do much else for now, except for maybe verniers. I am a very happy bunny and recent outings at Brands GP and Snett (last Thurs) show I have a bit of a goer.
My problem is still noise. Stupidly I booked Goodwood with RMA in Oct, and I am trying to get back to Bedford. Now the looks of my car have been outweighed by safety and performance (SL cage etc.) I don't care about cutting a dirty great hole in the front for an air box.
Nig., anyone, any views on what airbox to go for assuming keeping the Swan necks, and whether I will need a re-map? Will noise come down that much - compared to the Noise Killer acoustic foam I already have to reduce induction noise?
(Sorry, second half of my post here is a slight hijack but hopefully all adds to the discussion)
cheers

Having tried a new top/tower for my dry sump (many thanks Steve), I am still getting an oil leak. Now it is at the base of the screw on cap (the one you take out to put oil in).
I did see on an earlier thread that the latest tower cap, as fitted to an R500, does a much better job of keeping oil in and venting gases out to the catch tank.
I have a couple of questions:
a. does anyone know the name of the dry sump system fitted to a 1998 SLR?
b. will the new R500 bell tower cap (swirl pot cap?) fit to the system I have fitted?
c. will it keep the oil in?!
d. is it a self install job?
e. how much?
thanks in advance

Is this easy to do without causing airlocks?

Thanks Steve, I'll take a photo and e-mail it to you just to make sure.

Damn, love too, but in Spain then. We need a register as well!
I am going to Snett with SELOC on 8th July. Am a member of RMA and do most of their Snet/Brands/Bedford days.
Any other dates or occasions?

..the air vent? Do you mean on the catch tank?
I have a pipe coming off the second hole on the catch tank, that vents under the car, so it is definitely coming out the seal.

Steve
I'll try and describe it! It's the cap you unscrew to put oil in, at the top of the dry sump tower, and yes once you pull it all out, the cap is connected to a gold big tube thing with the dipstick running down the centre!
Maybe I'll take a photo to compare and contrast.
Nigel - mine leaks too much I think. After a strong run roaund the track there is oil all over the engine bay, floods of it, all out of the top of the tower. I admit I do over fill, so that it finds it's level.
On normal runs, there is a pool of oil near the o-ring on the cap of the dry sump tower.
I do have a catch tank - Mocal.
