  1. Same as Prangerman Pete. 17.5 no more than 18psi. Iv'e found thats what gives me even tyre wear. Plus like Pete I have Nitrons which have adjustable damping which is what will give you a softer ride.

  2. I did this some while ago to my SLR Nick. Very straight forward. Didn't even really need to bleed the brakes.

I pre filled up the new master cylinder. loosened every thing off & did a quick swop over. Worked a treat.

The new cylinder will give you a much firmer peddle which is far better for toe n heel.

  3. So out of curiosity for my SLR VHPD which has done 40,000 miles at mo. How much would a tear down & refresh be likely to cost?

Engine is all standard. And wouldn't be after any mods.

  4. Out for a blat in the Seven for Sunday lunch. And who should go by as we were pulling out from the Woodman Pub in Ide Hill nr Sevenoaks but another SLR Seven. Had a little blast together down the road before we went our own way.  *driving*

  5. Thanks Nick. Afraid not Sir.. And you would have to get in line. I have had a couple say same especially as i have re-trimmed the interior like new again.

Good luck with your search. Great car & ticks all the boxes for me.

  6. I have SLR 118 built in 2002. Had it now for 10 years without any engine issues. The engine has not been modified in any way or rebuilt at any time. Only having changed the ecu to Emerald. It's now done about 38,000 miles.

I don't think the K engine is a worry. Some people just don't seem to like them probably because of the early issues.

It is also a wet sump. Dry sump was an option i believe.

I think early issues were something to do with the use of plastic dowels instead of steal ones which allowed the head to move.

  7. You may well be right Roger. I just aquired it a few years ago by someone who thought I might make use of it.

Sat in cupboard ever since. Not my size.

  8. I have a Red Eurosport race suit size 42 in very good condition, looks almost new with just a couple of marks on.

It's out of date but would be good for track days. It has  The sewn on patch says CIK/FIA 2002/043-2 Supreme Racewear.

I have pics should anyone want to see.

    £40 plus P&P

  9. As my SLR was built with it, I like to think there is a reason for that. I've owned my car for 10 years now. Replaced it for the second time this year. Only ever found the old foams to be in perfect condition.

  10. Thanks Daniel

I bought my carpet from Redline. So fits well bar a couple of corners that need a bit trimmed off.

I used double sided carpet tape. Hopefully that will work. Didn't what to glue it.

All done now to. Looks like a new car now with new harnesses, new seat pads, new tunnel top, tunnel carpet & bulkhead carpet.

Just wondering about a new steering wheel to. Mine looks used against all the new stuff.

    Very pleased.

  11. Getting old guys. *yikes*

But it was all looking tired & scratched from putting chairs & tonneau etc behind the seats.

Same as interior, which is why i am revamping it all. New harnesses, Tunnel top & Seat pads.

After measuring tunnel frame work at bulkhead I will have to cut out a 11" by 7" to fit carpet in place properly.

Gona try double sided carpet tape.

  12. I am about to fit a rear bulkhead carpet. My car doesn't have one a present. One would assume that a purpose made piece of carpet would just fit. But its a bit like trying to fit a round peg into a square hole.

When the tunnel top is removed the tunnel frame work itself is square & the carpet is cut in a curved shape & also not wide enough to slip over the tunnel.

Am I expected to cut slits in the carpet & trim to fit?

Has any one else fitted a bulkhead carpet without removing one that could normally be used as a template.

I am told this is the carpet for my car so isn't another choice.
