thanks for the replies I have order a Beofeng uv 5r and have the starcom digital via an eBay purchase
Ian are you going to the plough on Tuesday if so could I have a look at your headset before I make a decision also would appreciate advise regarding connecting it all together

Have look on YouTube for k series cam belt change ,their is a video showing you how to change the cam belt I found it very helpful

Be careful when drilling the holes as it is metal and could tear quite easily ,I put it between two pieces of ply wood

Yes they are aces shift light .if you go to there web site you can find the guide showing you how to set them up.
the control module on my car is sited on the bulkhead under the dash, drivers side .

Their is a number on mine just in front of the roll bar on the drivers side

Have you tried the leather seats ? If they are better you could see if anyone wants to swop

what is the best way to tilt the seat back I thought about putting some washers between the floor and the seat runners or is it better between the seat and runners

The bracket was too wide to fit where the existing battery had been so I fitted the bracket in an upright position a small amount of cutting and filing was required and then riveted it in place and added a couple of small angle brackets as can be seen in the second picture
the battery is held in place by the ally section across the back of the bracket fixed with two nuts and bolts.
I. Have the s3 chassis, I think if you have an sv you would have enough room to lay the battery down
