  1. On a common route I take near my home there is a small hump In the middle of a fairly long straight piece of road. Going over it at anything over about 45 causes my speedo to temporarily stop working. It probably lasts for less than a minute before it starts reading correctly again.

What's causing this? Am I in danger that one of these times it won't come back at all?

  2. I'm 6'3'' and I've just got my first SV. It doesn't have lowered floors. I'm fine with it,I fit in ok and the driving position is fine.  I have thought about having the lowered floors retrofitted for a bit of added comfort.

I bought it from Gravely and Paine. They said when I bought it that it was easy to fit lowered floors. I think they said they could do it for about £450 per side. They also said it would be easy to do yourself if you were reasonably handy. I'm not that handy so haven't considered it myself.

  3. Thanks for the advice. I don't know anyone else with a seven right now, although hopefully I'll be able to go on a meet and meet some soon.

I'm not home right now, but when I'm back at the weekend I'll take some engine bay photos and add them here. Thanks

  4. Thanks. That's extremely helpful. I'll bear that in mind for when I need anything.

I was very surprised when Dreadnought said they didn't work on Caterhams any more. They told me that Caterham removed their status as official agents a few years ago, but I'm not sure why that would stop them doing any work (I was enquiring about changing to the lowered floor as my car doesn't have that at present). The photos on their website still feature quite a few sevens too.

I've got a 2012 Roadsport SV 1.6 Sigma 150bhp. It's blue with silver nose cone and bonnet stripe.

  5. I'm new to seven ownership having got my 1.6 Ford Sigma engined car in April.

Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem. I find my seven challenging to drive in town. I find that at low revs/small throttle angles the car jerks backwards and forwards and I have to dip the clutch to stop it. I have found that if I either take my foot off altogether and coast or put my foot down a little further I can more or less prevent it happening but this makes for uncomfortable progress in traffic.

Is there something wrong with the car? I'm perfectly prepared to accept that the failing lies with the meaty part sitting in the drivers seat rather that the car itself, so if the answer is I'm doing something wrong happy to take that feedback too.

    Thanks

  6. Hi, I just bought my first seven. When I bought the car the dealer recommended Dreadnought Garage in Callander as a place for servicing and any work I need done in Scotland, however I contacted them and they've said they no longer work on Caterhams. Does anyone have any advice on where I can take my car if I need something and/or when the service is due?
