  1. Oil is 5W30 fully synthetic, water temperature is normal, sensor is in the sump.

As soon as the revs drop oil temperature starts reducing, other thing we noticed is that the fuel consumption increases considerably, i. e. from 30mpg to 20mpg.

  2. Cruising at 100 mph oil temperature increases to 120 and oil pressure drops slightly.

Sigma engine, what is the maximum recommended oil temperature and the best way to reduce this, see that no oil coolers are readily available.

  3. Have experimented with tyre pressures extensively, this seems to give the best results, car has been set up by PGM.

ARB have been checked and have been set up carefully,

  4. Spoke to Simon, unfortunately the budget does allow his shiny upgrades just yet...

The VX engine is much heavier than the Sigma, this should make a difference in spring rates required. As mentioned I am looking for more compliance not outright track performance.

  5. Car is a roadsport 140 with wide track front suspension and Bilstein dampers with adjustable platforms. Springs are Eibach 77843.

I am trying to make the car more compliant for our bumpy roads as it is a daily and covers about 8000 miles a year. Can anybody advise me if there are softer/progressive front springs and if this is an improvement.

  6. For coating have a word with Kirdford shotblasting, they are considerably cheaper than Zircotec.

I have a coated exhaust on my classis bike and it still looks immaculate after 5 years and 7500 miles of long distance events.
