  1. Its an imperial car but my micrometer is metric so theres an element of rounding probably. I did try redline but they seem hard to get hold of. 1/2" and 3/8 sounds about right. Are these available from caterham?   I`ll grab a picture of the links in question Cheers Pete

Many thanks all. Its indeed a Dolomite and is almost certainly someones modification.at some point. The problem was the drivers side brake was reassembled incorrectly after the shoes were replaced. Theres a H section metal fitting which should go next to the handbrake/self adjust lever. It was fitted below the lever. On to the next job! Cheers Pete

  3. Hi

Has anyone got an assembly diagram for a S2 rear drum brake. While I`m awaiting suspension components, I took the drums off. One side the handbrake doesn't really work on, the other side binds. At some point its had replacement cylinders and shoes and I`m convinced its reassembled incorrectly or broken, possibly both. Its the self adjusting version. Possibly Triumph Herald based?.

  4. Hi Ian

yes, its quite scabby in parts but solid. At the moment I`m getting rid of anything I don't like the looks of and will then rebuild over time. I`ve not had a serious play in it yet, hopefully I`ll get a chance before winter sets in.Looks like its had many hands on it over the years, none of them particularly good. I`ll post pictures as I go if anyones Interested. For interest this is what  was used to support the heater and vents once I got it out!, nasty!  Cheers Pete.  20210813_152219.thumb.jpg.b47af651daf9a4d73fedfc2ef6329edb.jpg

  5. Hi All

Replacing some rough panels in the engine bay and discover the steering column is extremely close to one side of the cut out where it passes through part of the upper frame. Its grooved to take it but its not in the center, Its obviously been like this for decades but while everything is off I`d like to loose sleeve it where it passes through the frame and footwell for around 9", maybe fit a top bearing.  Any thoughts on this?.

  6. Hi All

My recently acquired 1965 7 needs a water pump and additionally oil filter change. I`m not entirely certain which engine is fitted  though. Its not the overhead cam one. Details on the only plate on the rocker cover give  Holbay, Martlesham Suffolk England. Kesgrave 3000  I`ve a feeling its a Ford but I`m not sure what I need to quote to obtain the parts. Any help appreciated

  7. Hi All

Just acquired a S2. Having unstuck the carpet and piles of foam over the transmission tunnel it looks like I`m going to have to remake the whole assembly. Its patched in at least 4 places, the rearmost part is in 1/8" aluminum sitting around 1/2" at the top above the forward part of the tunnel. Are there any drawings for this part and anything to watch out for?

    Regards Pete

  8. That sounds along this lines of what I want, the front where the feet are is fine, its only the rear part thats an issue. Dont suppose you have any pictures from when you fitted these?  Regards Pete
