  1. Thanks..Yes it's a nice thing...I've only driven a few other standard sevens and not really driven any back to back with this but the turn in is superb and the overall stability with the wider track all round is great. I've only done one track day in it at Croft last year and it was really easy to push quite hard even without any real set up etc..

  2. Ok after much deliberation I've decided to put my car up for sale in order to buy another Porsche,      ( and potentially a cheaper Caterham if I have enough change left over )..

“Freestyle" Caterham. Car No. 6 of 8 built

Built by Gary May and Len Unwin/ "Freestyle motorsport" in 2006. A very rare thing and highly regarded featuring some clever engineering solutions designed to improve performance without sacrificing usability. These cars were built as an evolution of the original design and are renowned for their improved turn in and stability. Car has original bill of receipt etc documenting delivery/work at Freestyle.

There's an excellent article in the Feb 2016 edition of Low Flying documenting the Freestyle story inc this car - (  I can send on to interested parties ). You'll also find plenty of info with google searches, ( note this is the full banana/one of x8 cars and not just the retro fitted inboard front suspension kit that many track goers have fitted ).

    Spec as follows

    - 19, 500 miles/MOT valid to April 2023

    - Freestyle inboard pushrod front suspension.

    - Freestyle “wide track” front suspension with aero wishbones and wider rear axle with rear arches +55mm each side vs standard using SV axle, ( double adjustable alloy Avo coil covers ).

    - Freestyle vented front cycle guards to reduce lift/ drag.

    - Freestyle rear diffuser to reduce drag/ improve aero

    - Full bare metal respray in 2022 at TSK in Aston Martin Pentland Green with Pearl black stripe, repainted grill etc.. ( it was previously red ).

    - Full ppf to nose/sides/rear arches..( 2022 )

    - 2. 3 Duratec engine rebuilt in 2020, ( itemised inc Cosworth rods/ piston etc ), and producing 263bhp with dyno print out, ( equivalent/quicker than R500 )

    - Roller barrel throttle bodies with carbon trumpets and new Pipercross filter..

    - MBE ecu, ( mapped at Northampton motorsport )

    - Dry sumped with Mocal catch tank

    - Stainless exhaust and titanium RaceCo silencer.

    - BGH 5 speed box rebuilt in 2021, ( best option with big torque engine ).

    - Varley battery

    - 4 pot big brakes with vented discs and road/, track pad.

    - AP adjustable brake bias

    - ZF LSD

    - Refurbed MB Mag split rims with new nuts/ caps

    - New Toyo R888r in 2021

    - New Momo suede steering wheel

    - New LED headlights, ( lowered )

    - New Caterham LED rear lights and integrated reverse, ( deleting fog/reverse )

    - FIA roll bar with high level brake light

    - Carbon dash with Freestyle plaque

    - Tillet seats with 4 point harness/caterham pads

    - Oxted quilted leather seat pads

    - New softbits for sevens carbon leather boot cover

    - New trans tunnel carpet

    - Softbits for sevens padded bootliner

    - Armrests

    - Eccles mirror mounts with Motomec mirrors

    - twin USB/charging point

    - phone mount

It’s a lovely, unique car in great condition on the back of all the work that's been carried out. It's happy to cruise but properly quick on road or track too..

    £32,500 ovno.

    Please pm if genuinely interested..

    Thanks,

  3. Hi. I dont have on I'm afraid but fyi I've used the Apollo/current Caterham caps on my MB's by adding a small piece of heat shrink sleeve over each tab..Fit nicely now but you could repeat with a second piece if need  tighter fit....

    Cheers

  4. Before I buy a new one I thought worth asking here if anyone has one spare that they never fitted? Its the Chrome "CATERHAM" script badge I'm after..Must be as new. Please pm if so. Thanks, Ed

  5. Hi. I'm in the process of making some cosmetic improvements poss including renewing my carbon dash..However I've noticed my rocker switches are very faded/grey so figure it's worth trying to tart them up if possible..? Has anyone tried this or have any tips or is the only option to replace, ( dont really want to spend £100 on switches just for aesthetics)?

    Thanks,

    Ed

PS. If anyone has a nice new set they dont need please get in touch!

  6. Hi. I'm contemplating a new dash so thought worth checking here first..Looking for an as new carbon S3 dash with cut outs. WHY? Please PM if you have something. Thanks, Ed

  7. I had read somewhere else that he was a busy man and at times hard to get hold of.. Ideally I want someone solid/no nonsense that does it full time and sells a quality product/service. There's obviously a lot of companies out there doing this sort of thing but would prefer a recommendation.. Cheers

  8. On that note has anyone got experience of a good supplier of de sls. I'm looking for just basic Vaterham logos x3 for bonnet sides and one on the rear..Might want something slightly bespoke but nothing complicated. Will ask Tony if he uses someone but any thoughts welcome..
