  1. Hi Steve,

Always fancied a tandem, unfortunately I suspect my wife feels her cycling days are behind her. However I do know someone who might be interested. He has just bought a tandem but is very keen on Thorn bikes and just might go for an upgrade!! Will see what I can do.

  2. Andy, I have an old type heater sitting in my garage loft. I know it has a leak but I'm fairly sure that it looks repairable with some soldering. I took it out on the eve of a long trip to SW France years ago and never put it back. No longer have my Seven so you are welcome to it FOC or possibly a small donation to NTL???

    Alan

PS location, we're about 15 mins south of Gatwick.

  3. Having sold my Seven I'm left with a few bits and pieces that the new owner either did not want or did not have room for in his transporter. I'm not particularly looking for lot's of cash in fact I'm reasonably open to offers and I will donate a good percentage of anything raised to NTL

    1. Pair of cloth covered early S-type seats with the small square headrests. Both in good condition and are complete with runners. £100 for the pair.

    2. Stainless steel silencer. Believe it's the Vauxhall sports type. Highly polished. (was never refitted after professional polishing as I bought a Raceco can) Slightly dented on the underside, not visible. Could be a good conversion to re-packable with a bit of cutting and welding. £25

    3. Early Ford type radiator fan £5

    4. Set of Keihin FCR 41 Flat slide carbs. These were set up on a rolling road to be used with A Vauxhall 2.0L engine but I have jets/needles/spacers/trumpets and original throttle spindle for M/C use so may be of some interest to the BEC guys.

I have a custom made inlet manifold to be used with these carbs, but if the carbs were to go separately the manifold might be of interest to someone wanting to use M/C throttle bodies on a Vx engine. Not sure about pricing these but I think about £400.

  4. Sadly, the need to finance a new construction project and frustration with cr*p roads and proliferation of stupid speed restrictions in our area means we have decided to sell our beloved Caterham.

Built in 1993 by Don Cheshire, then technical editor of "Low Flying", this car features in several articles from that era. Also appeared in an article in an early "Evo" edition.

Engine is Vauxhall XE 2.0 litre with Swindon mods supplied new.

    Dry sump

Aluminium radiator and Laminova oil/water heat exchanger.

Currently on Weber 45s but I have run previously with Keihin

flat slide carbs. The Keihins gave fantastic performance with

a huge boost in torque to 175 ft/lb but were noisy and thirsty

and probably better suited to track use.

Standard track and suspension with Freestyle adjustable ARB on front. Big front

    brakes and LSD diff.

Cockpit: standard Caterham dashboard and instruments. Removable Racetech

    steering wheel.

Mog carbonfibre seats with sixpoint QR harnesses

    Terratrip intercom with headsets.

Wheels are 13"x6", there are two sets of wheels, one of 5 and one of 4 all currently

on Yoko 021s. I also have a set of slicks unmounted. Spare wheel rack at

rear of car has been modified to be quick release.

Colour is Caterham Red with Yellow FIA roll bar and yellow screen surround and

stanchions. Polished Vx race 4 into 1 exhaust with Raceco titanium

    silencer. Aluminium rear undertray.

Full set of weather equipment including hood bag, pocketed tonneau and a new Jill

    Judd half hood.

Mileage is coming up for 50,000. We have used this car regularly and in all

weathers but is serviced regularly and stored in a Carcoon within a

garage. Next MOT is due end of May 2010.

    Price £12,750

  5. Hi Epicurus, yes still have tape deck although like yourself realised that we would have nothing to play our old tapes on I am currently making digital copies of the most favourite. If you don't mind waiting a month or so until I can get this finished you are welcome to the machine.

  6. Hi Simon Mac, have replied to your emails but are bouncing back. Essentially what you suggest is fine. CD player and amp work well together, as above there may be an issue with Phono input on amp but this is not certain.

Do you want to pick up? 15 mins from Gatwick or other arrangements??

  7. Having a clear out and have some obsolete items that someone might be interested in. Happy for these to go free or possibly small NTL donation.

    Cambridge Audio CD3 CD player

    Cyrus Two Amplifier

    NAD Stereo Cassette Deck 6325

    NAD Stereo Tuner 4155

As far as I know all these work OK although there might be an issue with the Phono posts on the amp.

  8. I've gone back into general practice so no longer need this vehicle.

'99 (T) Isuzu Trooper Citation 3.0Litre turbo diesel SWB

effectively one owner from new (wife's vet practice was original owner) Always serviced by main dealer.

111,000 miles Tidy condition, all the electric toys work. MOT till May 2009

    New tyres

Tow bar fitted. This is the best vehicle I have ever used for towing a trailer, short wheelbase and remarkably tight turning circle make you a trailer reversing God.

    £3000

  9. Ian,

I have also been thinking about this (also Vx) just not got around to it yet! Your link shows some interesting options however I'm sure I remember a thread on here on this subject, someone had found/had made a swirl pot with a decent pressure cap and may have got rid of the expansion tank as well. My memory is faulty so may not be 100% on this.
