  3. (Sold) Volvo Childrens Car Seat (Sold)

This car seat has a very narrow base ideal for Caterhams. I have used it successfully in both and S3 and a SV for my daughter from age 3.

The seat has guides for both the shoulder straps and base straps, so any child of suitable size can be strapped in tightly. As they get taller the back can be removed and used as a booster seat.

Base cover could do with a quick wash, but is easy to remove. Even comes with the original Volvo instruction leaflet.

Looking for £40 for it, happy to post at cost, but would prefer cash on collection from North Colchester.

Pictures below, not sure why they are rotated...

    Now sold pending payment.

  5. Hi Alan

I had the car changed from roadsport spec to VVC. I didn't do the work, but a local Rover race specialist did it for me. It involved changing the head, VVC ECU and modifying the wiring loom.

Gives the car more top end grunt *thumb_up* I haven't had it rolling roaded but I guess produces 160 hp or so, same as an MGF Trophy.

    Cheers

  7. Hi

    Thanks everyone for their contributions.

I will get a set of the Caterham lowered headlamp brackets on order, I can't stand the flashing effect I get at the moment.

I have been enlightened by Simon at Meteor, however the NTR's and his other offerings are way more than my budget of £1000 including set up. I have seen the street series advertised, and the real world experiences are very useful, thanks Andrew

I do around 4-5000 road miles a year, so 3 years seems like a reasonable service period, so will probably give them a go.

Just need the 15" ZZS to arrive and I can get things moving.

    Thanks

  8. Hi

I was wondering if anyone could give me thoughts on the stability of these Ctaerham headlamp brackets. I believe they are now standard on the new cars.

    http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=4447

I currently have lowered brackets which fit in the clamps mounted on top of the chassis (2004 SV) and the headlights bounce around so much that I find it incredibly distracting at night, let alone for the poor person in front..

Do they give a stable mount for the headlights, or should I go back to the original brackets?

Also has anyone actually fitted a set or Nitron Street series to their car? Are they any better than the Bilsteins?

    Thanks in advance

  9. Hi Merecat

When I did mine I found a bit of bar the same diameter as the wing stays and gave a gentle tap with a hammer to ease them out so they sat better on the wing stay.

The glue I used was the EC1000 Acrylic Adhesive supplied by East Coast Fiberglass. I stuck the fasteners onto the wing and cable tied them in place to the wing stay with 2 cable ties per bighead fixing.

6 months of blatting in this car and nearly 2 years in the old car no failures yet..

    Cheers
