  1. Just wondered if anybody might have a spare drivers side rear wing that's no longer needed or perhaps surplus to requirements. Ideally in good condition, but colour irrelevant as will be sprayed to match my car. Willing to pay a fair price and to collect if within a reasonable distance of Bristol. Would also be happy to cover delivery charge.

  2. Just wondered if anybody knows if the mirrors shown on the car featured on the front page of this months Low Flying are available to purchase, and where. Maybe you may have some lying around your garage. Would be very interested in purchasing.

  5. This is a real long shot, but looking for a Sump Cover for my 1998 VX 1.6  8 valve Classic S/S. Although mine was cracked and successfully repaired, I wouldn't mind a spare just for peace of mind.

  6. This happened to me whilst driving. I assume one of the engine mounting bolts worked loose and came out causing extra stress on the other one which then sheared off. This resulted in the engine dropping slightly and the sump hitting the ground and cracking spilling oil on the road. It got worse because there was not enough space around the engine whilst in situ. to effect a removal of the sheared bolt, so engine out job to remove said bolt stub. Nightmare outcome for what started with such a trivial issue. I periodically check the engine mounting bolts now to make sure that they are locked up tight. Be warned.

  7. Would anyone have a 2018, (or earlier), club calendar they don't need. I am currently brightening up my garage / man cave with pictures from the calendars and have used all the 2019/20 ones I have. Any other 7 pics or memorabilia would be welcomed.  Am happy to pay postage and make a contribution to club charity.

    Thanks Terry.

  8. Doesn't appear to be any interest in swap as yet.  I would be grateful if I could kept in mind if anybody  hears of a second hand pair of S3 S type leather seats which might become available, or perhaps you might hear of somebody whom is looking to change to Tillets etc.

    Many thanks

  9. Thanks Tazio, you are obviously very competent and very brave. I'm afraid this, for me, just might  be a step too far, (a bit like cutting the wires on an unexplored bomb!)  I think I will give some serious thought as to my next move, but thanks again, I appreciate your help.

  10. Thanks for info, at least I now know what it is.  Unsurprisingly I rang the number you gave, but message say's "number dialled is not regognised".  Anybody have any suggestions on how to overcome my dilemma?  I am not apposed to having the alarm disconnected, does anyone know what's involved and the likely cost of calling a mobile car alarm specialist in to do this?

  11. Hi

I was hoping that someone might recognise the type of immobiliser fitted to my 1998 seven from the pictures of the key. I only have the one key and it would be more comforting to have a spare if this was possible. Sadly I suspect that this type of immobiliser has long since become unavailable, but I wouldn't mind know this for sure.

  12. Thanks to all for your input. As a newbie to Caterham and the L7 club, I must say how impressed I am with people's willingness to help. Fortunately I bought the car from an authorised dealer, so I think I'll take advantage of the warranty offered and get it back to them to check out. To answer one of the questions asked, I am based in the Chew Valley area just South of Bristol.  Thanks again.

  13. Thanks Jim, as far as I can tell everything seems to function properly (see reverse bit later), after getting underway, even before it really gets warmed up. It feels easy to shift into gear after idling in neutral, and clutch pedal travel feels 'normal'. The last part of any journey i make involves me reversing in to my garage, and then, even after being warmed up, it clunks into reverse with the pedal right to the floor.  Apologies if I've not explained this well enough.
