  1. Can any one help with the following?

I'm after a Left hand drive shaft. Either with Joints or just the shaft, Ford differential. Happy to take the right hand as well if they are being sold as a pair.

Also after some rims for MIke Barnby centers 2*3" outers & 2*6" inners.

Hope there's someone out there who can help with these?

  2. I'm wondering if anyone can help? A friend of mine is doing a top end refresh on one of these and he cannot get anyone to give him information re the crank bolt torque setting. He's tried all the usual Vauxhall motorsport specialists. They are just not replying  one even wanted 100 quid for the information!

The bolt is 4" long, 1/2" shank, has a 3/8 hex drive head and a NF20TPI thread, he thinks the steel is 12grade but cannot be sure. Would you, being a venerable Vauxhall guru, know the torque setting for such a crank bolt?

Also can this bolt be reused or must it be replaced with new?

  3. Due to do Brands track day Tuesday 3rd May and My R500K series has oil pressure all over the place??

Cold start pressure no problem Set off gently and all well excellent oil pressure. 10 minutes into drive and oil temp and pressure in the normal range so start to press on. Oil pressure falls and warning light comes on then its normal then it falls bounces around like this till I get home. when it comes back its fine. I've checked all the usual things plenty of oil, and its new, checked the connections from the sender. I think the symptoms suggest the sender has failed. I have also had pressure -99 which according to stack trouble shooting suggests faulty connections or sender.

Anyone else had this? Suggestions please

  7. Dear Goeff,

May I add my voice of thanks and appreciation for all that you have done for the club. I consider it an honor to have got to know such a wonderful man. Track days in my seven would not have been half as much fun without your presence. The Le Sept tips you helped organise with Barbara must rate up there with the best days of my motoring life.

I wish you all the best in your new endeavours.

    Gonna miss you *wavey*

  8. Hi elie

Thanks I agree it can be very time consuming hence my request for advice help. As it happens the previous racer left me with the race settings and I am very happy with these. So for road use I am just going to soften up everything and see how it feels.

    Matthew

  9. The car is a year 2000 K series R101 R500 built for the Jaguar centurion race series and so yes it came with these expensive dampers when I bought it after a full rebuild.

Now whilst the timing equipment etc is available, its not currently fitted. I may not be the best driver but I know that it feels perfectly damped and balanced on track, but the ride is quite harsh on less than perfect roads. Some of this may be down to spring rates but I'm sure I can make the damping better for the road as well, then go back to track setting for track days.

So I was looking for a guide rather than just trial and error. I now have some information from Nitron and the current setup is written down so I will have a play. So elie not looking to shave tenths just keep my teeth in on the back roads. 😬
