  1. Here for sale is my 1992 Caterham 7 Super Sprint with a Raceline 2.0 blacktop Zetec conversion running on Weber 45s, Omex 200 ECU giving roughly 160bhp.

Brand new engine and all ancillaries in 2012 supplied by Raceline. Done 15000 miles, 36700 in total for the car.

“Minilite” 14 inch wheels with recent Rainsport 3s, 5-speed box, De Dion rear suspension, Nitron dampers (new in Nov 2019), FIA rollbar air horns, immobiliser, fire extinguisher, Caterham 7 floor mats, lowered drivers floor, leather seats, sports mirrors, starter button, hi-level brake light, flush fuel cap, 7 Grille, Willans 4pt harnesses.

This car is a fantastic all-rounder, clamshell wings and carburettors, classic 7 looks and sounds, with modern performance.

I have owned the car for over 5 years, in that time I’ve renewed many components (brake, water and fuel hoses, brake seals, rad fan, immobiliser) to make this a reliable regular driver.

MOT March 2022. Currently SORN. Personal plate not included – on J reg. Various other bits available such as half hood, petty strut, “4x13 inch Minilites”.

    £14000

  3. Petty strut to fit my 1992 S3 Super Sprint with a single diagonal FIA roll bar.

Even if you haven't got one, do you know for sure the part No or designation of the one I need? And where to get one? I have asked Redline over the weekend and am waiting their response.

I am hoping to join the Speed Championship and need to have one fitted.

    Thanks

  4. I recently obtained a 3.62 diff via Eb to change the gearing from the 3.9 one I had.

When I came to fit new h shaft seals I found the normal 62mm dia didn't fit, it requires about 54mm. I then thought I would test to see if my half-shafts fitted ('92 De Dion C/flow) - they don't, they are too large a diameter.

The diff in every other way looks like a normal 7 inch open diff - but what is it??

I have solved the problem by getting another 2nd hand one, and went out for my first go with it today.

I want to sell on the this seemingly odd diff, but can only honestly do that when I know what it is.

    Thoughts please!

    Keith

  5. Thanks Paul, but my budget only runs to a second-hand one  - I should have made that clear!

However interested that you run with a 3.38 - I am not sure whether to go that high, or just the 3.62. I have a 2.0 Zetec so plenty of low down torque, so I think it would take it without compromising acceleration too much, but allowing more relaxed 70mph cruising. What is your experience?

    Thanks again, Keith

  6. HI

Thanks for your replies. I have now booked, staying at the Ibis in Laon.

I assume am going with the club as told the tour operator that was the case.

Be in further contact nearer the time - just finishing re-trimming the transmission tunnel at the moment!

    Keith

  7. Planning on going in June, it will be my first tour, and the first time I have taken my Seven abroad.

Hoping for trouble free and sociable weekend with my wife in our 1992 Zetec S3

Any advice? (I am used to driving in France, but never been in the Caterham)

    thanks Keith
